The Media-Tech Expo, the premier trade show for the optical disc industry, came to a close in Frankfurt on May 27. The dominant market position SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG holds in the DVD line business was further underscored at this venue. Compared to that of competitors, and to the Expo held two years ago, a marked increase in demand and project activity was noted for the duration of the show.
The exceptional business conducted at the trade show supports the company’s projections for the development of prerecorded and recordable DVD replication lines into the strongest growth sector and generator of revenue for 2004. Further, the clustering at the SINGULUS booth during the three show days signals an additional post-show business. Estimates by industry insiders prior to the show placed SINGULUS’ global market share in the prerecorded line business at 60%. This clear dominance now appears to have improved even further.
SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES utilized the Media-Tech Expo platform for the market launch of its advanced DVD lines.
Industry attendees were introduced to the new SPACELINE II prerecorded DVD replication line exhibited in operation for the first time. With a capacity of 30,000 discs per shift, it will become the new industry standard, as supported by the great interest and high demand evident at the show.
The company also introduced a new replication line for recordable DVD dubbed the STREAMLINE II. A number of orders were booked for this system both prior to and during the show.
The STREAMLINE II for once-recordable DVD-R was also on exhibit. This newly-developed product has enabled SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES to re-position itself in the recordable DVD growth market where the company will strive to achieve a position of leadership. The technical excellence and high customer utility of this enhanced equipment has already been corroborated by the orders awarded to date. As a result, the expectations associated with the future success of this business are justifiably high.
