Main Features:

Base Machine
The base machine is manufactured by FANUC, the world market leader for all electric molding machines. The new concept consists of an optimized rigid frame and platen, five motors and the 5 point toggle system. Together with its unique CNC controller, which allows simultaneous movements, the all-electric molding machine guarantees high reliability. Additionally, the automatic central lubrication system stands for almost maintenance-free operation.

Drive Concept
The plasticizing unit, the screw and the toggle system are driven by servo motors and tolerance free timing belts. The new advanced servo motors offer higher clamp speed which generates faster cycles and a wider process window. This makes the EMOULD unbeaten in high precision and reproducibility of each movement.

Plasticizing Unit
The plasticizing unit with its servo motor driven screw offers unbeaten high precision movement. Together with the improved precise metering, shot weight variations are reduced to a minimum. The synchronized heat up of the heating zones and nozzle prevents black spots. Thus, the EMOULD produces substrates of high quality with maximum yield.

Servo Take – Out
The new high precision Servo Take – Out handling includes sprue detection and high speed take out of the substrate from the mold. Compact design, maximum safety and low maintenance are fundamental attributes of its design. In addition the adjustments via touch screen make the settings very easy.

Mold Technology
The EMOULD all-electric molding machine uses state–of-the–art designed molds from the well known manufacturers AXXICON and AWM. Whether it is for pre–recorded, recordable or re–writable formats, the molds can be easily integrated into the machine. The hardcut of the pneumatic integrated punching function in combination with the shut-off-nozzle effects shortest cycle times and high process stability. The use of well proven standard components means less maintenance and save time for process adjustments.

Temperature Control Unit - TCU
The optimization of optical, mechanical and electrical quality characteristics of the blanc substrate, makes it necessary to use a high precision Temperatur Control Unit. Depending on the format of the optical discs, up to 4 temperate water circuits are integrated into the machine frame. Thanks to a clearly arranged concept with all plugs and connectors on the front, handling is made easy. The pumps are magnetically coupled and all hoses, tubes and connectors are made of stainless steel and brass. The control via our own Mitsubishi control offers maximum process- and software flexibility. Additional features are easy operation via the central machine touch screen and the quick start up function, which contributes to reducing the down time of the machine.

Touch Screen
The EMOULD is operated via the LCD Touch Screen. It is integrated into the FANUC machine, there is no separate monitor or cabinet required. Remarkable features are the Windows based operating system, detailed self-diagnosis and log-book function, as well as the unique multi wave monitoring. It allows comprehensive visualization of each production cycle and helps the operator to follow the molding process in real time and – if necessary – take corrective action.
