Kahl am Main, November 15, 2007 – Hans-Jürgen Stangl (44) has been appointed to the Management Board of SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG (SINGULUS) as member with responsibility for the newly established "Solar" business unit. The company's Supervisory Board appointed him to the Management Board with effect of January 1, 2008 by a resolution passed on November 15, 2007.
Within the Solar Division, Hans-Jürgen Stangl, CEO of the SINGULUS subsidiary STANGL Semiconductor Equipment AG (STANGL) will coordinate all activities of STANGL and also take charge of the establishment of a new division “Solar� at SINGULUS in Kahl. The first measure planned is to develop a new solar coating system that will ideally complement the existing business area of wet-chemical processes and systems. In the medium term, the new Solar business unit is to become a second pillar of the company alongside its existing principal area of activity, optical discs.
In recruiting Hans-Jürgen Stangl, SINGULUS has succeeded in obtaining an experienced expert from the Solar market. After completing his technical training he worked as Project Manager for Sales and Technical Development for three years for an well known equipment manufacturer in the semiconductor industry. He has been running STANGL Semiconductor Equipment AG since 2002, a company established in 1988; he masterminded the company's successful market entry into the solar industry.
SINGULUS has launched a development project in Kahl with a view to readiness for marketing its own vacuum coating system for solar cells by end-2008. The aim is to become one of the world leaders for production lines for solar cells over the next few years.
STANGL alone expects annual double digit growth rates.
The new coating system will help to generate further growth.
