SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES’ cumulative revenues rose to 209.5 million Euro during the first 9 months of the current fiscal year, compared to 175.8 million Euro attained during the same period last year. At 99.2 million Euro, revenues for QIII/2002 exceeded not just those of the previous QII/2002 (56.8 million Euro) but revenues for the third quarter 2001 (71.3 million Euro) as well.

Order intake for QIII/2002 of 72.6 million Euro surpassed last year’s third quarter (47.3 million Euro) and by the close of the period on 09/30/02, totaled 242.2 million Euro (last year: 155.9 million Euro). The “book-to-bill� ratio for the first 9 months of the year remains clearly positive at 1,16. The order backlog rose to 88.4 million Euro by the close of the quarter on 09/30/02; adjusted by a major order, this figure totaled 54.0 million Euro at the close of the same prior-year period on 09/30/01.
With pre-tax earnings of 41.0 million Euro (previous year 35.7 million Euro), SINGULUS’ net earnings totaled 27.2 million Euro (prior year 22,7 million Euro). The company’s profitability remains at a very high level. During the first 9 months of the year, the gross margin rose to 36.1% (equivalent period last year 34.5 %). This gross margin gain is also apparent in a third-quarter comparison between this year (36.2%) and last (35.6%).
Our goals for 2003 will focus on actively participating in the growth opportunities presented by the pre-recorded DVD and new DVD±R und DVD±RW formats and securing a greater market share than our competitors.
