SONOPRESS GERMANY, a company of Bertelsmann AG, has had two SINGULUS V Metallizers under test since April of this year. Both systems have been operating in one DVD – line:
One Metallizer SINGULUS V SMART for layer 0
One Metallizer SINGULUS V FOCUS for layer 1
For the DVD 9 production the semitransparent layer 0 is produced using gold as well as silicon targets.
Peter Schaper, technical director at SONOPRESS GERMANY, highlighted the major advantages of the new Metallizer:
