Philips and Singulus have come to an agreement to cooperate in manufacturing of CD-RW and DVD+RW media. The technical information will be used to optimize the SUNLINE manufacturing process in compliance with the high PHILIPS quality standards. Accordingly SINGULUS will provide turn key solutions to its worldwide customers. The cooperation with PHILIPS ODTC will strongly improve SINGULUS' market position and bring benefit to the broad SINGULUS customer base. By supplying comprehensive manufacturing solutions, SINGULUS is the window to the technically challenging but high potential RW disc market.
The PHILIPS Optical Disc Technology Centre (PHILIPS ODTC) in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, is the competence center for disc manufacturing technology. After the conclusion of basic media research Philips ODTC will develop manufacturing technology in cooperation with the replication industry and to set up prototype production for certain types of media.
