Kahl am Main, 29.05.2006. SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES (SINGULUS), global market leader in the optical disc area, will introduce a new version of the SPACELINE II Replication Line for all DVD formats including HD DVD capability at the coming MEDIA-TECH Expo in Frankfurt in May. The process cycle time is faster than 2.3 sec. with a basic dry cycle time capability of 1.9 sec.
In 1996, SINGULUS was the first supplier of inline DVD manufacturing systems worldwide. With the installation of over 1000 SPACELINES by now, SINGULUS has turned the system into the industry benchmark.
The new SPACELINE II combines DVD 5, 9, 10 formats with HD DVD. With a cycle time below 2.30 seconds, this machine achieves the most cost-efficient disc production and highest product quality and yield available in the market.
Each of the sputter modules is optionally equipped with a newly designed version of the SMART CATHODE® which provides excellent uniformity of the sputtered layer for various coating materials. Using the experience of 5000 metallizers this further improved cathode offers now over 1,000,000 shots per target. Silicon can be sputtered optionally.
The SPACELINE II is available with EMOULD or MOLDPRO molding machines. Together with the new MOLDPRO all electric molding machine from SINGULUS MOLDING, the SPACELINE II has the smallest footprint worldwide. All other qualified molding machines (Sumitomo, etc.) can be integrated on request.
The SPACELINE II with many patented original parts, e.g. SMART CATHODE®, TMD, Spin Cooler, etc., ensures the necessary confidence in a high rate daily production of DVD and HD DVD. A built in push button function to switch from DVD to HD DVD and back is a standard.
