On Friday, January 9, 2004, SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG, Kahl am Main, legally acquired from the OTB Group all business shares of ODME B.V., Eindhoven/NL, effective January 1, 2004. The purchase price for the company and its complete range of mastering system products totaled 23 million Euro. ODME’s replication line business will remain part of the OTB Group and is not included in the acquisition. Exclusive patent and other intellectual property rights for the MoldPro injection molding technology were also acquired from the Dutch OTB Group B.V., Eindhoven/NL.
ODME will be consolidated with SINGULUS OMP’s mastering activities to form SINGULUS MASTERING B.V., Eindhoven/NL. The new company becomes the world market leader in mastering systems with a comprehensive and technologically leading portfolio for all existing and emerging optical disc formats.
